Supporting cardiovascular clinical research at WashU & Barnes-Jewish Hospital

The Cardiovascular Imaging and Clinical Research Core Laboratory (CIRCL) is a university-based laboratory that supports clinical research studies by providing noninvasive cardiovascular procedures with standardized measurements and analyses.

Since 1999, the Cardiovascular Imaging and Clinical Research Core Laboratory has participated in over 115 clinical studies for investigator-initiated, university, government and pharmaceutical company funded projects.

Types of support for clinical research protocols include:

  • Consultation on study design
  • Assistance with writing of grant proposals
  • Noninvasive cardiovascular testing with standardized measurements
  • Protocol surveillance
  • Data management and electronic data transfer
  • Reporting of results and statistical analysis
  • Writing of manuscripts
